Food is fantastic, atmosphere was great, wine was superb. complimentary wine for the oyster and fluffy chocolate mouse were excellent. I will gave the service 6 stars if I can.
La Couvêe was quite a find. Very well received on arrival, and seated in a nice and quiet corner. Our hostess was very friendly and took her time to explain the specials and the other dishes on offer. We had a good selection of dishes from the menu, and everything was well presented and a treat to all the senses like one tend to expect from French cuisine. Good quality ingredients and a masterful treatment in the kitchen resulted in a pleasant late dinner. Recommended if you are looking for a French option with a menu that has both surprises and classics. All accompanied with good service.
Came upon this delightful restaurant on a rainy Friday in Montmartre. The host was gracious & seated me without a reservation, but I recommend you make one. Ambiance, wine, service - all stellar. The food, ridiculously good. I had the special of the day, beef bourguignon, which they played with artistic flare. I’ve eaten at several restaurants in montmartre. This is by far my fav.
I was having a terrible day. I’m supposed to be enjoying a wonderful vacation but my partner was hospitalized. Even though I had no appetite and did not feel like going out, he insisted I ate. He chose this restaurant for me. I had a great mojito and an amazing entree of duck. Everything from the atmosphere, service, and food made me feel better when I wasn’t feeling well. The price point surprised me of its incredible value. If there’s such a thing as French “Comfort” food, this is it!
From the moment we walked in, La Couvée felt welcoming. We were a group of five with no reservation on a Saturday evening, and they didn’t hesitate to accommodate us. The staff greeted us warmly, taking our order from memory and making eye contact with each of us — thoughtful, unhurried, and genuinely caring. The space is intimate and charming. The razor clam starter was delicious, and every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The chocolate mousse, a family recipe, was incredible. The owner’s warmth and attention to detail — from helping an older guest down the spiral staircase, anticipating guests’ needs before a request was even made, and genuinely ensuring everyone was taken care of — was impressive. A bonus: we ended the night with limoncello shots, a treat shared with the owner. La Couvée isn’t just a meal — it’s an experience of care, generosity, and love for the craft. Highly recommended for anyone seeking refined French bistro cuisine with heart.
One of the best restaurants in terms of food quality that I have ever experienced. The combination and composition of the dishes is amazing, the atmosphere is pleasant, the service is amazing. So if you are looking for a choice of food in the area, I definitely recommend it. Today my parents celebrated their wedding anniversary here and we are all literally overwhelmed by the experience. Thank you again.
Currently sitting at the table trying to leave but far too stuffed with amazing food. This place is warm, cozy, fun and full of delicious food and wonderful staff!! Try the beef bourguignon , the perfect egg and the duck filet.
This was the best meal we had in Paris. We sort of happened upon it and I’m so glad we did. Not only is the food amazing, but the vibe and atmosphere were perfect. The service and wine were also great. We each got a different entree from the specials followed by the chocolate mousse and French toast. I will make sure to tell everyone I know coming to Paris that this is a must. Bonus points for the music!
